Vinings is an adorable pocket between Buckhead and Smyrna. It sits right inside the perimeter and serves as a great option if you want to live close to Midtown and Buckhead but not directly in the hustle and bustle. It's a highly accessible community - midtown Atlanta is about 15 minutes away and both Smyrna and Marietta are just a short drive northwest, while the Atlanta Hartsfield airport sits a close 20 minutes south.
One of the reasons why I love Vinings is that it balances urban sophistication and our signature Southern charm. It's a relatively small census-designated community, covering only 3.3 square miles, but it packs a lot of real estate options and amenities, making it more than just your average bedroom community in Cobb County.
Adding more flavor to Vinings is its collection of historic sites and attractions. Once known as Crossroads, the area was later also called Paces, after Hardy Pace, who operated Pace's Ferry from the area. Vinings then became a construction stop for the Western and Atlantic Railroad during the 1840s. Eventually, the town was named Vinings, after the railroad architect, and officially became a community in 1904.
